John Haskew – Founder
John is an experienced wildlife photographer and film maker with a deep connection to the Maasai Mara.
Originally built as a base for his photography and film work, MLIMA also became a sanctuary for John, inspired by a passion for well-being, mindfulness, and meaningful connection to nature.
John sees MLIMA as a space for guests to pause, breathe, and reconnect — to themselves and the wild. We welcome everyone to experience a retreat where wellness meets wilderness.
MLIMA TEAM
MLIMA is run in close partnership with members of the local Maasai community, ensuring guests experience a warm and authentic stay.
Ian and Boniface manage our wonderful team, including Philip and Benson, our talented private chefs, and Leah, Leonard, and William, who take care of housekeeping — all working together to make your experience at Mlima comfortable, welcoming, and deeply connected to the spirit of the Mara.
